#1toWorldPromise educates and empowers learners to be smart and ethical digital citizens.

Each year NISD students, with the help of their teachers, learn age-appropriate best practices through Digital Citizenship curriculum. The 1:World Digital Citizenship curriculum, which consists of 5 separate modules, aligns with the ISTE standards “designed to empower student voice and ensure that learning is a student-driven process”.  After completing all of the modules, participants are invited to take the #1:WorldPromise. By taking the #1toWorldPromise, individuals affirm their commitment to:

  • be upstanders, rather than bystanders
  • share carefully and thoughtfully online and on social media
  • create positive digital reputations and be aware of their online identity
  • follow copyright laws and protect intellectual property
  • be aware, avoid, and report phishing, scams, or cyber attacks
  • protect their personal information

The 1:World Digital Citizenship curriculum is divided into grade-appropriate courses, available at moodle.nisdtx.org.  Learn more at 1:World NISD  and #1toWorldPromise.
